'Publicly, we say one thing,' he told aides. 'Actually, we do another.' [....] On May 31, 1970, a month after Nixon went on TV to defend the previously secret U.S. bombings and troop movements in Cambodia, asserting that he would not let his nation become 'a pitiful, helpless giant,' the president met his top military and national security aides at the Western White House in San Clemente, Calif. [....] In a memo from the meeting marked 'Eyes Only, Top Secret Sensitive,' Nixon told his military men to continue doing what was necessary in Cambodia, but to say for public consumption that the United States was merely providing support to South Vietnamese forces when necessary to protect U.S. troops. 'That is what we will say publicly,' he asserted. 'But now, let's talk about what we will actually do.' [....] Nixon told his aides to plan offensive operations in neutral Laos, continue U.S. air operations in Cambodia and work on a summer offensive in South Vietnam." *Trivia: "The reason Paul abandoned the profit company for bringing out the ECK teachings is that it offered no umbrella of protection for the initiates of local Satsangs to hold classes. Each time they met, a city official could have insisted upon a business license. It took Paul awhile to realize it, but Constitutional protection had long ago been provided for groups of religious teachings, and that was to be a church."  [Based on: Harold Klemp] [See link:  ]

I see a change in many things; in communities, groups and people I meet, and then later meet again. I feel that the personality has grown smaller as the message has grown greater. And I'm always feeling that I personally don't count; I'm just the instrument being used to get the message out." [Based on: Paul Twitchell]

1970 - Poisoned? / Paul Twitchell, Spain - September 1970?

Paul was a man given a most difficult mission. As evidenced by the fact that a disturbed person attempted to kill him with poison in September 1970 and the resulting illness he experienced in the final year of his life, Paul had little to gain materially from this mission. Yet right to the end, he continued to gather together and put out the teachings of truth.

*Trivia: "A very significant event in Paul's spiritual evolution took place in the summer of 1970. During a trip to Spain, he was poisoned. A young man, under the influence of the Kal Niranjan, slipped an extremely potent poison into Paul's citrus drink. Paul had walked into this individual's home with complete openness and an abounding love, and when he was handed the juice, he drank it. But he knew it would harm him, in the same way that Buddha did when he ate the tainted rice. [....]" [Based on: Harold Klemp]

In her book, Patti mentions going to see a doctor [p.103]: 'I visited him the last week in August.' who told her: 'When Paul was in Spain, someone poisoned him. He is in very bad condition.' [p.104] " [E.M.]

*Trivia: "[....] Except for a few members of the Inner Circle, Paulji's poisoning was not known to the world or to his followers. [....]" [Based on: Paulji, A Memoir, by Patti Simpson, 2nd printing: 1986, p. 108; Original Copyright: 1985]

*Trivia: "[....] The question has been raised, if Paulji [Paul Twitchell] had such special powers, why did he not detect that the juice drink in Spain was poisoned? There is no need to go into this in depth here, as that will be covered in his biography that I am assembling next, and will detail all he had to say about the experience. Basically, though, I will say that he had a foreknowledge of the poisoning, but that he would not avoid it for special reasons. [....]" [Based on: Paulji A Memoir, by Patti Simpson, 2nd Printing: 1986, p. 127]

*Trivia: "Reportedly, after taking the poison, Paul Twitchell was knocked out  for about four days." [Based on: Paul Twitchell, ECK World Wide Seminar, Las Vegas NV, October, 1970]

*Trivia: "[....] How could Paul have been poisoned to death in Spain or Czechoslovakia, and no one be quite sure? I’ve never heard that one before.Yes, it is true that not a lot has been said about Paul's trip to Spain where he was poisoned, still the fact remains that he returned alive and lived for more than a year after this until his passing in Cincinnati on September 17, 1971. So, obviously, Paul wasn't poisoned to death. I assume this was a slip of David's pen. [....]" [Based on: Doug Marman, Dialogue in the Age of Criticism, Chap. 4]

But just what are the Council of Nine and their message being used for? Why are so many prominent leaders in so many fields keen to promote them, with greater or lesser degrees of openness, as in the case of Righard Hoagland and his message of Cydonia?
"There is, in our view, an over-riding need for caution here. Alarm bells may be heard clear and strong, for true or false, now the Nine have become the property of the intelligence agencies, it is wise to be vigilant - and perhaps even afraid. On 30 January 1971, the day embedded in Irish national consciousness as Bloody Sunday, 13 civil rights demonstrators were shot dead by British paratroopers. Weeks later, the government in London finally lost patience with Protestant supremacist government in Belfast, and imposed direct rule. William Whitelaw was dispatched to Belfast as the first Secretary of State, his bumbling exterior concealing a shrewd, even steely purpose. The Provisional IRA stepped up its killing rate: seven died in the bombing of Aldershot military bombings, the first Republican bombing in Britain since 1939. In July came Bloody Friday, when 11 innocent people were blown away by Provisional bombs in Belfast. Amid the mayhem, Whitelaw was starting to crack the political whip. All I have to do is edit it. I've got four manuscripts now that are sitting there, and I've got three typewriters going, [a new manuscript] in each one of these. I ease up, maybe about every 20 minutes, and go to another typewriter and type a little bit, for maybe another 15 minutes, and then to another one and type another 15 minutes. Then I go over and start editing a book, and then in the meantime I'm writing letters. So, you see, the communication we have [now] is in the book field, but in the field of electronics, through radio, television and music, we haven't even scratched the surface in these things, and on the whole we haven't scratched the surface of ECK yet." The activities of the Abbé Bérenger Saunière (as well as those of Pierre Plantard) are very well documented but Henry Lincoln has not noted these facts and they are certainly not to be found in any of his books."

1971 - Status / U.S. Currency - August 15th, 1971: "President Nixon suspends the convertibility of U.S. dollars into gold, effectively ending the Bretton Woods system of fixed international currency exchange rates. Ever since 1971, when US president Richard Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard [at $35 per ounce] that had been agreed to at the Bretton Woods Conference at the end of World War II, the dollar has been a global monetary instrument that the United States, and only the United States, can produce by fiat. The dollar, now [2003] a fiat currency, is at a 16-year trade-weighted high despite record US current-account deficits and the status of the US as the leading debtor nation. The US national debt as of April 4, 2002 was $6.021 trillion against a gross domestic product [GDP] of $9 trillion."

*Trivia: "[....] Economically, the American Empire was born with Bretton Woods in 1945. The U.S. dollar was not fully convertible to gold, but was made convertible to gold only to foreign governments. This established the dollar as the reserve currency of the world. It was possible, because during WWII, the United States had supplied its allies with provisions, demanding gold as payment, thus accumulating significant portion of the world's gold. An Empire would not have been possible if, following the Bretton Woods arrangement, the dollar supply was kept limited and within the availability of gold, so as to fully exchange back dollars for gold. However, the guns-and-butter policy of the 1960's was an imperial one: the dollar supply was relentlessly increased to finance Vietnam and LBJ's Great Society. Most of those dollars were handed over to foreigners in exchange for economic goods, without the prospect of buying them back at the same value. The increase in dollar holdings of foreigners via persistent U.S. trade deficits was tantamount to a tax - the classical inflation tax that a country imposes on its own citizens, this time around an inflation tax that U.S. imposed on rest of the world.

"When in 1970-1971 foreigners demanded payment for their dollars in gold, The U.S. Government defaulted on its payment on August 15, 1971. While the popular spin told the story of "severing the link between the dollar and gold", in reality the denial to pay back in gold was an act of bankruptcy by the U.S. Government. Essentially, the U.S. declared itself an Empire. It had extracted an enormous amount of economic goods from the rest of the world, with no intention or ability to return those goods, and the world was powerless to respond - the world was taxed and it could not do anything about it. 1971 - Prison Riot / Attica N.Y. - September 9th, 1971: "While there have been many prison uprisings throughout our nation's history, one stands out above all the others. It began on Thursday, September 9, 1971. The time was about 8:50 a.m. The place was the Attica Correctional Facility in upstate New York. More than 1,200 Attica inmates gained control of the facility in a well-planned, savage attack. During the initial violence, 50 correctional officers and civilian employees were brutally beaten and taken hostage. Correctional officer William Quinn received the roughest beating and he was soon freed by the inmates due to the severity of his injuries. With their hostages as leverage, the inmates listed 28 demands they wanted met. One of those demands was for amnesty for the crimes they had already committed when they took over the prison. But, when word came that Officer William Quinn had died of his injuries inflicted by the prisoners, amnesty was ruled out of the question. Finally, after four days of fruitless negotiations, the command was given to retake the prison and rescue the hostages. With National Guard helicopters flying overhead, administering chemical agents, a rescue force of nearly 200 New York State police officers and two correction officers stormed the facility. The entire rescue operation lasted just several minutes, but it was filled with terror and bloodshed. When it was over, 10 hostages were dead, along with 32 inmates."

Public Law 92-203 was enacted by Congress to settle the claim of Alaska's native Indian Aleut and Eskimo population to aboriginal title to the land on which they have lived for generations. This claim had been unresolved during the more than 100 years since the U.S. purchased Alaska from Russia in 1867. The Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act removed the sovereign status of Indian nations in Alaska by incorporating them into the United States. Approximately 44 million acres of Native American lands were turned into U.S. assets. The importance of this act is that the incorporation of Native American lands included the oil beneath and the timber on the top."

1972 - Dollars for Oil / U.S.A. & Saudia Arabia, ect. - 1972: "[....] When in 1970-1971 foreigners demanded payment for their dollars in gold, The U.S.

"From that point on, to sustain the American Empire and to continue to tax the rest of the world, the United States had to force the world to continue to accept ever-depreciating dollars in exchange for economic goods and to have the world hold more and more of those depreciating dollars. It had to give the world an economic reason to hold them, and that reason was oil.

"In 1971, as it became clearer and clearer that the U.S Government would not be able to buy back its dollars in gold, it made in 1972-73 an iron-clad arrangement with Saudi Arabia to support the power of the House of Saud in exchange for accepting only U.S. dollars for its oil. The rest of OPEC was to follow suit and also accept only dollars. Because the world had to buy oil from the Arab oil countries, it had the reason to hold dollars as payment for oil. Because the world needed ever increasing quantities of oil at ever increasing oil prices, the world's demand for dollars could only increase. Even though dollars could no longer be exchanged for gold, they were now exchangeable for oil. [....]"

1972 - Trivia / Sidney Gottlieb -

Sidney Gottlieb (August 3, 1918 – March 7, 1999) was an American chemist probably best-known for his involvement with the Central Intelligence Agency mind control program (MKULTRA).

Sidney was born in the Bronx under the name Joseph Schneider. He received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology. Despite the fact that he was a stutterer since childhood, Sidney got a master's degree in speech therapy. He also had a club foot, but this did not stop him from practicing folk dancing, a lifelong passion.

In 1951, Sidney Gottlieb joined the Central Intelligence Agency. As a poison expert, he headed the chemical division of the Technical Services Staff (TSS). Sidney became known as the "Black Sorcerer" and the "Dirty Trickster". He supervised preparations of lethal poisons and experiments in mind control.

[....]

In 1972 while still the head of the Technical Services Staff, shortly before retirement, Sidney Gottlieb allegedly destroyed most of the CIA files pertaining to him.

Sidney Gottlieb's passing on March 10, 1999 came at a convenient time for the CIA, as several new trials involving victims of its experiments were commencing.

1972 - Supreme Court Ruling Trivia / Domestic Wiretaps - "When Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito worked at the Justice Department in President Ronald Reagan's administration in 1984, he defended in a memo the right of government officials to order domestic wiretaps for national security. The National Archives released the memo and scores of other documents related to Alito on Friday [12/23/05]. The memo dealt with whether government officials should have blanket protection from suits when authorizing wiretaps. Alito wrote, 'I do not question that the attorney general should have this immunity. But for tactical reasons, I would not raise the issue here.' Despite Alito's warning that the government would lose, Reagan's administration took the fight to the Supreme Court. The case questioned whether  President Richard Nixon's attorney general, John Mitchell, could be sued for authorizing  a warrantless domestic wiretap to gather information about a terrorist plot. In its court brief, the government argued for absolute immunity for the attorney general on matters of national security. The case ultimately led in 1985 to a ruling by the Supreme Court that the attorney general and other senior officials could be sued for violating people's rights, in the name of national security, with such actions as domestic wiretaps. But the court said Mitchell was protected from such suits, because when he authorized the wiretap, he was unaware that his actions violated the Fourth Amendment. The decision was consistent with the Supreme Court's unanimous ruling in 1972 that it was unconstitutional for the government to conduct wiretaps without court approval." 1973 - Changing Images of Man - "In 1973 the United States government commissioned a report from SRI International entitled Changing Images of Man, edited by Willis W. Harman and O.W. Markley, which conclude that the spread of what it termed 'the new values' - spiritual and ecological awareness and self-reilisation movements - is become virtually unstoppable. This would bring about a transformation of society (particularly in the United States) that would radically undermine 'modern industrial-state culture and institutions' and result in 'serious social disruptions, economic decline, runaway inflation, and even institutional collapse'. This report anticipates a lessening of trust in authority and a reaction against a regimented, tightly controlled society. It also suggested ways of preventing this worst-case scenario by identifying existing institutions or traditions that could be used to control and contain the impetus of the new movement. Significantly, it recommended as one of the best solutions the tradition of Freemasonry. [....] What is particularly significant is that this report was produced by SRI International at the very time that they were heavily involved with the CIA and the US Defense Department. Imagine how it must have made alarm bells ring in the corridors of power, especially as it stressed that such a transformation of society was inevitable. The only recourse for those in positions of power and authority was for them to actively hijack the belief systems that underpinned this social unrest, moving it in whatever direction gave them the greatest advantage and retaining their control over the masses." 1973 - Darwin Gross / The Mahanta?, the Living ECK Master? - "... by the end of 1973 and early 1974 Darwin [Darwin Gross] was being introduced as the Mahanta, the Living ECK Master, at all the major seminars, and in the ECK publications." [See: Dialogue in the Age of Criticism, Chap. 12]

*Trivia: "I've often wondered how differently things might have gone if Darwin had heeded Paul's warning, in his Illuminated Way Letter of January 1971:

The next MAHANTA is about fifteen years away. He is now in training but where he is nobody knows and won't know for a long time yet. Meanwhile, I am serving as the MAHANTA, the Living ECK Master, until the time comes to appoint an ECK Master who may serve in the interim until the next MAHANTA is appointed. So those who make claims to the spiritual title are being boastful and exceeding the very characteristics of any of the ECK Masters. The Masters of ECKANKAR are not at all forward in temperament but quiet, almost shy in nature and frankly very brusque in speech and manner.

Its prominence as the leading voice for pollution-based prosperity helped it attract enormous donations from the automobile, coal, oil, and chemical companies." [Robert F. Kennedt Jr., Crimes Against Nature, p. 24]

*Trivia: "The Army plans to ship chemical waste from the destruction of deadly VX nerve agent stockpiled in Indiana through Illinois and Missouri to Texas for incineration. [NP] The plan's opponents strongly oppose incinerating the VX hydrolysate in favor of treating and disposing of it on-site. [NP] The Army's project to destroy the Newport Chemical Depot's stockpile of the VX is expected to produce about 2 million gallons of hydrolysate. [NP] Army spokesman Greg Mahall said the first trucks carrying the residue could leave next week, traversing Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missippi, Louisiana and Texas." The Phalanx weapons system, using DU, was tested on the USS Bigelow out of Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in 1977, and DU weapons have been sold by the U.S. to 29 countries. Military research report summaries detail the testing of DU from 1974-1999 at military testing grounds, bombing and gunnery ranges and at civilian labs under contract. Today 42 states are contaminated with DU from manufacture, testing and deployment. [....] A Japanese professor, Dr. K. Yagasaki, has calculated that 800 tons of DU is the atomicity equivalent of 83,000 Nagasaki bombs. The U.S. has used more DU since 1991 than the atomicity equivalent of 400,000 Nagasaki bombs. Four nuclear wars indeed, and 10 times the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere from atmospheric testing! No wonder our soldiers, their families and the people of the Middle East, Yugoslavia and Central Asia are sick. But as Henry Kissinger said after Vietnam when our soldiers came home ill from Agent Orange, 'Military men are just dumb stupid animals to be used for foreign policy.' [....]"
